Three firefighters were injured while battling a fire at a Lincoln pallet company called Pallets Unlimited.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the other two were treated on scene for their injuries.

The fire started in the pallet storage yard of the recycling plant located at 2390 Athens Avenue, just west of Thunder Valley Casino, according to Cal Fire officials.

There was initial concern the facility was open for business during the fire. Firefighters shifted efforts to putting out the fire once it was determined that all workers had safely gotten out.

Cal Fire said they are worried about the fire spreading to surrounding vegetation and structures. Multiple crews from Roseville, Lincoln, Rocklin, Placer, Sacramento Metro and Auburn Fire departments are working together on the fire.

Current firefighting efforts are expected to continue for many hours. Crews are expected to be on scene doing mop up for a day.
