3 hospitalized after tree falls El Dorado County Sheriff's Office vehicle

The sheriff's office says the three people are S.T.A.R. volunteers, also known as the sheriff's team of active retirees.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — Three people were hospitalized Wednesday after a tree fell on an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says it happened around 2 p.m. near Grizzly Flat Road and Sweeny Road. They say three S.T.A.R. (sheriff’s team of active retirees) volunteers were in the vehicle conducting safety patrols.

The three were taken to the hospital where their condition is unknown.

The sheriff’s office reminds drivers to be cautious as the weather is changing.
