3 wanted after alleged hate crime at Roseville restaurant

Police say it began when the suspect went into the restaurant to pick up a delivery order, saw a pride flag and threw it to the ground. It then escalated.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville Police Department is investigating a ‘hate incident’ that happened at a restaurant late Thursday night.

Officers were called to a restaurant on the 10000 block of Fairway Drive around 10:15 p.m.

Police say it began when the suspect went into the restaurant to pick up a delivery order, saw a pride flag and threw it to the ground. The manager and employees confronted the man, who allegedly used a slur and left.

Police say the suspect and two other people returned to the restaurant and got into a fight with two employees, leaving one with facial injuries.

The suspects left before police arrived and the Roseville Police Department says it’s being investigated as a hate incident.

They are not releasing videos or surveillance images of the suspects at this time.
