The California Highway Patrol welcome four new K9 academy graduates into patrol.

Three Patrol and Explosives Detection Canine teams and one Explosive Detection Canine team graduated from the academy in West Sacramento on Thursday, Nov. 10.

The canines and their handlers had to go through 15 weeks of intensive training. All four are set to be used to support the Department’s mission of providing Safety, Service, and Security to the public.

Graduates include two German Shepherds and two Belgian Malinois, between the ages of 12 months and 2 years old. These four new teams will report to Divisions across the state after today’s ceremony.
