4 killed in crash on Highway 120 in Manteca identified

The medical examiner's office says all four people were from Livermore.

MANTECA, Calif. — The four people killed in a Saturday night crash in Manteca have now been identified.

According to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office, they are:

  • Arriaga Bonifacio Negrete, 44
  • Liliana Guerrero Mendoza, 40
  • Jorge Negrete Guerrero, 12
  • David Negrete Guerrero, 4-months-old

The medical examiner’s office says all four are from Livermore.

The California Highway Patrol says the crash was reported around 10 p.m. Saturday along Highway 120 westbound, east of Van Ryn Avenue.

Police said a Toyota Sienna was going west on the highway when the driver lost control, hit a center median, and went into the dirt and grass median separating east from westbound. The vehicle went airborne, hit the Van Ryn Avenue overpass, flipped and caught fire.

Two adults and two minors in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, including the driver and an infant. A total of seven people were in the vehicle.

CHP Stockton said some of the occupants in the van were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. It's not clear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
