SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Five people have fatally overdosed on drugs in Sacramento County within the past week, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say there were a total of eight overdoses all within a two-mile radius in the eastern part of the county. Three people did not die as a result of their overdose.
An investigation is ongoing and deputies say they suspect the overdoses may stem from a single batch of cocaine possibly mixed with fentanyl.
