Adventist Health in Marysville temporarily closes visitor access

The hospital says the closure is due to "safety concerns."

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Adventist Health and Rideout in Marysville announced Friday it's temporarily suspending access to visitors due to "safety concerns," according to a statement.

The hospital said the closure is not related to any outbreaks, clinical challenges or care related issues. Staff said the hospital is confident its campus is safe, but are working with law enforcement and are controlling access into the facility.

"Our hospital will continue to conduct scheduled procedures and our emergency department remains open 24/7," the hospital said. "We urge anyone experiencing a medical emergency to seek care immediately and not delay care."

Visitation exceptions include pediatric patients, individuals with pediatric patients, individuals with a disability or cognitive impairment, end of life, labor postpartum and NICU. Other expectations could be made, but will be considered on a "case-by-case" basis.

"We understand that this an inconvenience and appreciated our patients and the community's understanding and consideration," the hospital said. "We anticipate restricted visitation will be limited and commit to providing an update when visitation is restored."
