PARK-AND RIDE

The park-and-ride shuttle will enter and exit through the Garden Highway Gate. Attendees can park at Cal Expo (1600 Exposition Blvd). The Shuttle Pass includes parking for your vehicle and a shuttle taking you to and from the festival.

Shuttles will start service an hour before the gates open. They will run throughout the day until about 75 minutes after the end of the festival each night. There will be limited shuttle service on the following days and times:

  • 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and Sunday
  • 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday

According to organizers, daily park and ride shuttle passes are sold each day and for the weekend. Each person on the shuttle requires their own pass for a ride. You can buy those in advance. The Park & Ride Shuttle will offer accessible shuttles for paid shuttle pass holders throughout the event.

PARKING NEAR AFTERSHOCK

The Aftershock website states there is no on-site parking at the event besides ADA parking. Camping is also not allowed. According to the festival website, there are a few paid parking options not managed by the festival in certain lots around the park that will be available until they are full. The only way to access parking is from West El Camino Avenue. Garden Highway will be closed to traffic. Click here to find additional ADA parking information.

BICYCLES

If you choose to bike to Discovery Park for the event, the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates will have a complimentary bike valet service at Aftershock. They will take your bikes, skateboards and scooters and hold onto them during the event. Each festival day, the bike valet opens about 90 minutes before the gates open. You can get to Aftershock by using the Jedediah Smith Bike Trail.

RIDESHARE

Event organizers tell ABC10 there are two rideshare locations, one off Garden Highway and one off Jibboom Street. If coming from downtown, they recommend using Jibboom Street. If you're coming from the Natomas area, they recommend Garden Highway as an entrance.

SACRT

According to SacRT, people attending the Aftershock festival can ride for free, as long as they have a valid ticket/band for that day. Be ready to show it to the bus operator or fare inspector.

SacRT is providing supplemental bus service for the Aftershock Festival from Thursday through Sunday due to the heavy traffic expected around the festival. Those buses will travel between the 8th & K bus stop in downtown Sacramento, to and from the stop located in front of the ARCO station on Jibboom Street near Discovery Park.

Here are some tips for riding the light rail to the Aftershock festival from SacRT:

Make sure to wait on the right side of the tracks, signage will indicate which side is correct. Push the button to open the door when the train arrives, find your seat, and make sure to listen and watch for the correct station. When you get there, push the button to open the door to exit.

SacRT has more than 50 light rail stations and 22 park-and-ride lots within 43 miles of the service area. They recommend parking at one of the following light rail stations for the best customer service experience:

  • Sunrise, Watt/Manlove, Franklin or Roseville Road

According to SacRT, there is construction happening between the Iron Point and Historic Folsom stations, so there’s no service there, but you can use shuttle buses instead. Light Rail service starts at the Iron Point Station. Additionally, the Swanston Station on the Blue Line will be closed. The light rail trains operate every 15 minutes (except for Folsom stations) during peak hours, and every 30 minutes during off-peak times.

Here’s what SacRT wants you to know when arriving to downtown:

  • Passengers riding to downtown on the Blue Line from Citrus Heights/Roseville should exit the train at the 10 & K Station and walk to the 8th & K Bus Stop to board the bus to the Aftershock Festival (look for Aftershock signage identifying the stop). Note: Swanston Station is closed.

  • Passengers riding to downtown on the Blue Line from south Sacramento/Elk Grove should exit the train at the 9th & K Station and walk to the 8th & K Bus Stop to board the bus to the Aftershock Festival (look for Aftershock signage identifying the stop).

  • Passengers riding to downtown on the Gold Line from Folsom/Rancho Cordova should exit the train at the 8th & K Station and walk across the street to the 8th & K Bus Stop to board the bus to the Aftershock Festival (look for Aftershock signage identifying the stop).

Here’s what SacRT wants you to know when departing from downtown:

  • Aftershock attendees taking transit back from the event will need to board buses at the same bus stop location as the drop-off.

  • Passengers needing to travel back toward Citrus Heights/Roseville should exit the bus at the 8th & K Bus Stop and walk to the 9th & K Station to board a Blue Line train back to the destination station (look for the train headsign that reads “Watt/I-80”).

  • Passengers needing to travel back toward south Sacramento/Elk Grove should exit the bus at the 7th & Capitol Bus Stop and walk to the 7th & Capitol Station then board a Blue Line train back to the destination station (look for the train headsign that reads “Cosumnes River College or CRC”).

  • Passengers needing to travel back toward Rancho Cordova/Folsom stations should exit the bus at the 7th & Capitol Bus Stop and walk to the 7th & Capitol Station then board a Gold Line train back to the destination station (look for the train headsign that reads “Sunrise or Folsom”).
