ARDEN-ARCADE, Calif. — At least one person was taken to the hospital after a fire in Sacramento County Saturday night, according to officials.
Sacramento Metro Fire says the fire happened at an apartment complex on Marconi Avenue near Wright Street. One person was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation injuries and another was hurt while trying to escape the fire.
A total of 24 units were involved with varying levels of damage, according to Metro Fire Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn.
He says the building has been a problem in the past with people staying in boarded up units, making searching for victims and putting out the fire more difficult.
Sacramento Fire Department officials also helped put out the fire. The fire is under investigation.
