ARDEN-ARCADE, Calif. — A man was injured in a stabbing at a gas station in Arden-Arcade early Thursday morning.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing happened in the 3400 block of Fair Oaks Boulevard, which is near the intersection of Watt Avenue.
A man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries to his face and torso. He is expected to survive, according to the sheriff's office.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Amar Gandhi said a call came in after midnight when a man rammed the victim's vehicle in a gas station parking lot and stabbed him several times before leaving. The suspect was identified by the sheriff's office as 34-year-old Robert Zimbelman.
Ghandi said the stabbing appears to be random and the two didn't know each other.
After leaving the gas station, Zimbelman was involved in a standoff along Highway 50 near Jefferson Boulevard that brought traffic to a stop and led to a backup in the area. He was later arrested.
Gandhi said Zimbelman is also connected to a call late Wednesday where he's suspected of assaulting his girlfriend and leaving in his vehicle, eventually ending up at the gas station. The woman was in a hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.
