AUBURN, Calif. — A woman died in a crash late Wednesday night along Interstate 80 in Auburn.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 11:50 p.m. along westbound I-80 east of Nevada Street. It's near Highway 49.
During the investigation, officers determined a woman lost control of her vehicle. She hit the center divider, a concrete post of the Nevada Street Bridge and was ejected from the vehicle. The woman, whose identity hasn't been released, died at the scene.
She wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to California Highway Patrol.
It's unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The deadly crash is under investigation.
The area near the crash was closed for a few hours overnight but has since reopened.
