AUBURN, Calif. — A motorcyclist died Saturday after crashing in Auburn.
Around 7:45 p.m., officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Auburn branch responded to a report of a motorcycle crash near Bell Road and Burt Lane, according to a CHP news release.
The passerby who called in the incident did not witness the crash, the release said. Officers and medical personnel determined a 56-year-old Colfax man lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle, left the roadway, was ejected and suffered fatal injuries, CHP said.
Mechanical failure is not suspected, and the man was wearing a helmet, CHP said. Officers continue to investigate the incident, and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
Any witnesses of the crash are being asked to contact the Auburn CHP office with information. The Auburn CHP office can be reached at 916-663-3344.
