Evacuations, shelter in place lifted after gas leak in North Auburn

Officials said six homes were evacuated and others in the area were told to shelter in place.

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — Update: 10:25 p.m.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office announced the evacuations and shelter in place for the gas leak have been lifted.

Six homes have been evacuated after a car crash caused a gas leak in North Auburn Monday night.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened near Golden Chain Mobile Home Park in North Auburn.

Six homes were evacuated and a shelter in place was issued for the surrounding area. 

Officials said a car crashed and hit a gas line, which caused the leak.
