Mountain lion spotted in Auburn. Here's where

Police are warning people in the area to watch their pets. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified.

AUBURN, Calif. — The Auburn Police Department is warning people about a mountain lion spotted in the city Thursday.

The mountain lion was seen in the area of Auburn Folsom Road and Eagles Nest. It's in the southern area of the city.

Police are warning people in the area to watch their pets. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified. Police said the mountain lion was still in the area around 6:45 a.m. Thursday.

Anyone who sees a mountain lion can call the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at (916) 358-1312. But, Auburn police say if there's immediate danger call 911.
