Placer County pedestrian hurt in hit-and-run crash

Investigators say they reviewed security camera video showing the driver speeding away after hitting the pedestrian.

AUBURN, Calif. — Officers in Placer County are searching for a driver accused of hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene Saturday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Lincoln Way and Foresthill Road. Police believe a silver 2002 to 2006 Infiniti hit a male pedestrian who was crossing Lincoln Way.

Investigators reviewed surveillance camera video showing the driver of the car speeding away after hitting the man. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a broken pelvis, broken right ankle and cuts to the head and face.

Police are asking witnesses and people who may have seen the car to come forward. They believe the car involved has minor damage on its front grill.
