AUBURN, Calif. — Update: 4:14 p.m.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office says there are no outstanding suspects following a shooting involving law enforcement in Auburn Thursday around 11:30 a.m.
"The deputy responded and made contact with the subject, and at some point during that contact, there was an exchange of gunfire between the deputy and the subject," said Angela Musallam, spokesperson for the sheriff's office.
One person, a man, was taken to the hospital with injuries, and deputies say several other people were detained. Deputies said this is an isolated incident.
No deputies were injured in the shooting.
According to a tweet from deputies, "We are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the area of Griffin Way in Auburn. No suspects are outstanding at this time."
