Structure damaged in Placer County fire

Officials are investigating what caused the fire.

AUBURN, Calif. — A fire in Placer County left one structure damaged, crews with Cal Fire's Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit said Sunday.

The fire broke out in the area of Memory Lane near Mount Vernon Road, but the smoke could be seen for miles, firefighters said.

Crews are investigating what caused the fire to ignite. Forward progress was stopped.
