SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Police Department has identified the man killed in an assault on I Street near the county jail early Monday morning.
Police say the victim was 56-year-old Kevin Brace, a longtime employee of Greg Padilla Bail Bonds.
Police were called for an assault on the 500 block of I Street around 4:15 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, they found Brace with significant injuries, but he later died at the scene.
Detectives detained the suspect, 38-year-old Jacob Mandell, at the scene. He was then booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of homicide.
