Bar fight leads to fatal stabbing in Woodland

A man who was stabbed after in a fight in a Woodland bar died from his wounds Saturday night, Woodland police said.

The department said that officers arrived to Kenny's Bar at 8:46 p.m. to investigate a report that someone had been stabbed.

During the investigation, officers learned that a fight occurred in the bar tween two men. One of the men, who police identified as 55-year-old Jeffrey Lemus, stabbed another man with a knife during the fight.

The 54-year-old victim was found on the ground and bleeding from his wounds. He was treated by medical personnel before being transported to UC Davis Medical Center. The victim was pronounced dead while being treated for his wounds, Woodland police said.

Lemus was contacted at the scene by police and arrested without incident. He was booked at Yolo County Jail for murder. The victim's identity has not been revealed until the Yolor County Coroner's Office releases it, police said.
