A big rig accident on Interstate 80 has shut down eastbound lanes near Kingvale, according to California Highway Patrol.
At least one big rig is on fire because of the accident that happened west of the Donner Lake Road according to CHP. Possibly five big rigs were involved.
CHP recommended that drivers detour to Old State Route 40 for the time being. There was no information on the number of people injured in the accident.
CHP also said there was no estimated time of opening the eastbound lanes.
