Driver rescued after big rig falls down embankment in El Dorado County

Officials said it took 40 minutes to get the driver out of the big rig.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — A person was freed from a big rig wreck in El Dorado County Wednesday morning.

According to the El Dorado County Fire Protection District, the big rig rolled down an embankment on Rattlesnake Bar Road around 8:30 a.m. 

It took multiple fire agencies and the California Highway Patrol about 40 minutes to get the person out of the truck and over to a hospital via helicopter.

The driver had several injuries, but was alert and talking to rescuers.
