The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department found a body on the side of the road early Wednesday morning.
According to representatives with the sheriff's department, they believe this is the result of an altercation and not a hit and run.
The investigation is still ongoing. Sheriff's officials are asking commuters to avoid the area of Auburn Boulevard between Garfield and Manzanita as it is expected to be closed for several hours.
