ELK GROVE, Calif. — Congresswoman Doris Matsui (D-Elk Grove) is heading to the General Election in November, according to the Associated Press.
Matsui is trying to secure another two years in the U.S. House of Representatives, but she faces two challengers — one of which is from her own party.
Her competition includes Tom Silva, a Republican veterans program coordinator; and David Lee Mandel, a Democratic human rights attorney.
They are competing for votes in California’s 7th Congressional District. The district covers Elk Grove, Galt, West Sacramento, Wilton, Rancho Murieta, Vineyard, Isleton, Walnut Grove, Herald, Clay and the California Delta.
The top two candidates will head to the General Election in November.
