STOCKTON, Calif. — The California Garlic Festival will be moving to the Merced County Fairgrounds, organizers announced Tuesday.
The move comes after the festival spent two years in San Joaquin County since the Gilroy Garlic Festival stopped operating in 2022. Now, it's a different festival with a different name headed by the Noceti Group, which also operates the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival.
Festival organizers said the festival will be held on August 30, 31 and September 1.
The annual three-day event will feature monster truck shows, live entertainment, a carnival and more.
It wouldn't be a garlic festival without a wide array of garlic-themed dishes. The festival will have garlic noodles, wings, sausage, popcorn, grilled cheese, catfish, shrimp, hot sauce, spread and more.
There's also Cali Garlic Alley with even more food including garlic fries, garlic maple brown sugar ice cream, a garlic mushroom and onion bread bowl and other tasty treats.
The festival will be open from 12-10 p.m. on all three days though some of the features including the buildings and Cali Garlic Alley will close at 7 p.m.
The California Garlic Festival will be at 403 F Street in Los Banos. Admission is $15 for anyone 18-64 and $10 for children six to 17. Seniors, military members with ID and children under five get in for free. Unlimited carnival ride wristbands are $35.
