A 15-year-old Vallejo girl remains missing following two days of searches in a coastal area two hours north of San Francisco.
Law enforcement officials acting on a tip searched for Pearl Pinson near Jenner on Friday and Saturday. The search ended at about 3 p.m. Saturday.
"We believe search teams have conducted a through search of the area," Solano County Deputy Sheriff Christine Castillo said. "We're confident that Pearl is not here."
About 70 people participated in the search Saturday. Castillo said that investigators would continue to review surveillance video recorded in the area and would re-group to discuss next steps in the search.
'We want to make sure we leave no stone uncovered - land, air and water," she said. "Anything in an effort to find Pearl."
A witness reported seeing a woman, now believed to be Pinson, being dragged along a pedestrian overpass in Vallejo on Wednesday. Deputies said the suspect was 19-year-old Fernando Castro.
Castro was then spotted in a gold 1997 Saturn on Thursday in San Luis Obispo County and later in Santa Barbara County where he was chased by sheriff deputies to Los Alamos.
At the end of the pursuit, the sheriff's office said the suspect got into a shootout with deputies and fled to a nearby mobile home where he stole a truck. Authorities pursued the suspect again, resulting in another shootout, killing Castro.
On Saturday's Pinson's sister expressed confidence that Pearl Pinson was still alive.
"I know she's still here," Rose Pinson said. "She's alive, I know that for sure. I have that sister vibe that she's alive and she's trying to find a way home."
Castillo has said the public can help find Pinson.
"If you see something, heard something, no matter how small, call it in," Castillo has said. "Leave us the tip, and let us follow up on it and help bring Pearl home"
