Power out for parts of Northern California counties amid fire danger | Update

PG&E said in an update Tuesday it delayed the start of power outages for about 10,000 customers mostly in Glenn and Shasta counties.

Due to the heat wave conditions and forecast in parts of northern California, fire weather conditions left thousands of PG&E customers without power Tuesday but some have been restored.

There's an Excessive Heat Warning Tuesday through Sunday across the valley, foothills, Delta, Coastal Range, and parts of the Bay Area. Red Flag Warnings are in effect for the Sacramento Valley, Delta, and Sierra foothills from Monday night through Wednesday afternoon due to gusty northerly winds and highs near 110°.

PG&E restored power to roughly 1,400 customers impacted by their Public Safety Power Shutoff period Tuesday due to improving weather conditions. They inspected equipment for weather-related damages and re-energized it once safe to do so.

PG&E says 600 customers are still without power but they’re trying to restore it.

They warn if weather and fire conditions worsen, power may be shut off again overnight.

PG&E said in an update Tuesday it delayed the start of power outages for about 10,000 customers mostly in Glenn and Shasta counties because of favorable weather conditions. The utility said it would update customers in those areas on the status of the outages.
