CALIFORNIA, USA —
Snow levels will be in the 4,000-5,000 foot range Wednesday and travel impacts are expected. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Sierra through 4 a.m. Thursday.
Snow levels should lower to around 4,000 feet by Wednesday.
By Wednesday afternoon, most of the storm activity will be out of the area as the storm shifts south. In total, valley locations are expected to receive 0.50-1" of rain through Wednesday and snow totals will range from 10-18" with two feet possible in the higher elevations.
Dry conditions are expected Thursday but more wet weather is on the way by late Friday.

Traffic
Interstate 80
- Eastbound I-80: Chain controls from Nyack in Placer County to Donner Lake Interchange in Nevada County, according to Caltrans. Eastbound trucks are being turned at Applegate in Placer County.
- Westbound I-80: Chain controls from Donner Lake Interchange in Nevada County to 2.1 mi east of Baxter Placer County, according to Caltrans. Westbound trucks are being screened 5 miles west of Reno /at Mogul in Washoe County.
Highway 50
- Chain controls from 1.5 miles west of Kyburz to Meyers in El Dorado County, according to Caltrans.
