SACRAMENTO, Calif. — UPDATE: Cal Trans says westbound I-80 is back open.

California Highway Patrol says westbound I-80 is closed at Alta Road due to wet weather.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), CHP says "wet weather in the Sierra is causing problems, leading to several crashes on Interstate 80 today."
CHP says motorists are being detoured off at Alta due to a multi-vehicle crash. There is no estimated time for reopening.
