UPDATE: The school lockdown has been lifted, according to Placer County Sheriff's Office, and the search for a suspect wanted has been scaled back.
Sheriff's deputies had been searching for Kevin Harris in Colfax near Alpine Way. However, Harris managed to escape.
Harris, 33, has a felony warrant for allegedly stealing a car, deputies said.
Two Placer County schools had been placed on a temporary lockdown as sheriff’s deputies searched for Harris.
Sheriff’s deputies report Harris was last seen with shoulder-length blonde hair, wearing a camo jacket.
Deputies remain in the area and on-campus officers remain at both Colfax High and Elementary schools, though no signs of the suspect were discovered.
