VOLCANO, Calif. — Update:
Daffodil Hill has announced they are closing for the season due to continuous rainfall.
Original story:
Nearly every spring, people visit Daffodil Hill in Amador County to see the beautiful bloom of flowers.
There's been less opportunity, though, in 2019.
With the anticipation of rain, the flower attraction is closed for the week of April 1, 2019. The popular seasonal attraction opened for the first time Saturday, March 30.
Martin Ryan, who owns Mclaughlin Daffodil Hill with his brother, says sometimes the hill can get too wet, which can cause the paths to get too slick for people to walk on them. The attraction is closed when that happens for the safety of those who visit.
In 2018, Daffodil Hill did not open all year because of unusual weather. The best way to know if Daffodil Hill is open is to check Daffodil Hill's Facebook page or call 209-296-7048.
