SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Another storm on the way means a lot of rain for the valley but also a lot of snow for the Sierra. This has many skiers and snowboarders anticipating the storm.
“That's why we come up here because it's been raining so hard,” said Levi Ward from Colfx. “We know it's gonna be gangbusters on the snow.”
Ward snowboarding at Boreal with his family.
With 16 inches of snow in the last two days, the family knew they had to make the trek from Colfax to Boreal.
“Excellent conditions, the best conditions ever,” said Ward. “A lot of powder, really nice snow, a little bit heavy but you know what, it's really good. It's gonna be a great base for the season.”
The same goes for the Edsons.
“It's like 36 degrees. Not too hot, not too warm,” said Aiden Edson.
Even with an incoming storm, the love for the slopes can't keep both these families away for long.
“I think I got tomorrow off too,” said Ward.
“We're gonna be back on Tuesday,” said Edson.
