PLACERVILLE, Calif. — National Barbecue Day is May 16 and if you haven't chosen a spot to indulge in smoky goodness, Yelp just released its list of the Top 100 Barbecue Spots for 2024.
Yelp put the list together by reviewing the total number of ratings and average score of each place. If a restaurant had multiple locations, the rank went to its highest-rated one.
One of the restaurants making the list is Placerville's own Hog Wild Bar-B-Que. Located at 38 Main Street, the Texas-style barbeque restaurant was 39th on the list.
"We are always thrilled to be recognized by our customers for the amazing low and slow-smoked meats and homemade sides we make every day," Mary Fulmer, the owner of Hog Wild, told ABC10.
Hog Wild was also recently featured on a new Food Network show called "Best Bite in Town."
It's one of 11 California restaurants to make Yelp's list.
