VACAVILLE, Calif. — Thousands of PG&E customers are preparing after Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) announced they will be turning off the power in 34 counties early Wednesday morning.
These shutoffs will affect various neighborhoods around Vacaville as well as potentially causing issues with the city's water services.
The City of Vacaville Utilities Department has started taking measures to make as much water available for customers during the shutoff period. They urge residents to conserve water in case the shutoff lasts for longer than a few days.
The city says you can conserve water by:
- Not using water for anything non-essential, such as washing your car.
- Turning off any automatic lawn sprinklers.
- Flushing your toilet less.
- Spending no more than 5-10 minutes in the shower.
- Using the bathroom and kitchen sink sparingly. Turn off the faucet when brushing your teeth.
