A picnic basket thief is on the loose in a park in Lodi. The main suspect: A giant bear.
Yogi the Bear is his name and he is attracting a lot of tourists to Tower Park. If you thought Jellystone Park was just a made up place, think again.
"There are 84 franchises in the US and Canada," said Paul Craft, a.k.a 'Ranger Paul.' "This is the only Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in California."
Ranger Paul is helping to set up the latest Jellystone Park in the camp site company's franchise. The Jellystone Park franchise took over the former KOA campsite at Tower Park in Lodi and they are bringing new life to the run down landscape.
"We have a balloon jump, water slide, cabins and Yogi and BooBoo." Ranger Paul said. "The park is still undergoing some renovations."
The park opened over the 4th of July weekend and popularity has been growing. The only thing Lodi's Jellystone Park is missing is the cartoons famous Ranger Smith.
"We are looking to hire a ranger smith by next year. " Ranger Paul said.
So, if your last name is "Smith" there is a job waiting for you!
