MODESTO, Calif. — A man was arrested after leading Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office deputies on a chase Tuesday morning.

Deputies say Modesto resident Roberto Daniel Acosta, 31, was allegedly driving a car reported stolen on Rouse Avenue in unincorporated west Modesto around 11 a.m. Officials tried to do a traffic stop which led to Acosta driving off and deputies chasing.

The sheriff's office says the chase was short as deputies used their cars to hit the vehicle, causing it to crash into a utility box on Kerr Ave in the Airport District. Another patrol car hit the suspect's car head-on, then Acosta hit a tree.

Acosta allegedly got out of the car and ran before getting arrested by deputies. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to officials.
