SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California International Marathon is Sunday, Dec. 3 in Sacramento. There will be traffic impacts throughout the weekend.
According to the Sacramento Running Association website, a combined 11,000 runners will attend the marathon and CIM relay.
The marathon will start in Folsom at Auburn-Folsom Road and end in Downtown Sacramento. From Folsom, runners will continue into Orangevale and Citrus Heights, through Fair Oaks and Carmichael, to Arden-Arcade and into East Sacramento. Then, runners will continue through Midtown and finish in the Capitol Mall area of downtown.
There will be closures in place in the Capitol Mall area beginning Friday, Dec. 1 at 8 a.m. until race day (Sunday, Dec. 3) at 5 p.m.
- 10th Street from L Street to N Street
- 9th Street from L Street to N Street
- Capitol Mall from 7th Street to 9th Street
Additional downtown closures:
N Street will be closed from 7th to 12th Street on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. – Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
L Street will be closed from 8th Street to 15th Street on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 4 a.m. – Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.
