CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — Two people were injured in a Citrus Heights duplex fire Thursday.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said the fire happened along Sperry Drive near San Juan Avenue around 7:50 a.m. and also had a report of a disable person inside the building.
Crews found the victim in a back bedroom and removed them through a window after searching the building.
The victim was taken to a hospital with major burn-related injuries and another person was treated on scene by fire crews for burns they got from trying to keep fire away.
A dog was also rescued from the fire. It's not clear how the fire started and it's under investigation.
