FAIR OAKS, Calif. — One person is dead after an accident in Fair Oaks.
According to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the collision was reported around 7:20 p.m. in the area of Madison Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened when a man tried to cross the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. Police said he went directly into the path of a Toyota that was heading eastbound on Madison Avenue.
The pedestrian was hit and died from his injuries.
