Church's portable classroom destroyed in Citrus Heights fire

The fire district and Citrus Heights Police Department are on scene with a person of interest.

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A church's portable classroom was deemed a total loss after a fire in Citrus Heights Wednesday night.

The fire was reported along the 300 block of West Whyte Avenue, just before 9:30 p.m.

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the portable classroom was already well-involved with fire by the time crews arrived. The blaze was knocked down, but the classroom was a total loss.

The fire district and Citrus Heights Police Department are on scene with a person of interest.

No injuries were reported, and the fire remains under investigation.
