CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A woman was put behind bars in connection to a more than decade-old homicide case in Citrus Heights.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department, 49-year-old Alejandra Aguilera-Ortega was arrested Monday afternoon in connection to the 2013 death of Diego Lopez.
Police said Lopez died after getting illegal silicone butt injections, which ultimately led to his death. According to police, Aguilera-Ortega provided these injections despite being unlicensed. She allegedly ran away to Mexico before recently returning to Citrus Heights.
She was found and arrested on suspicion of murder at a local apartment complex.
