SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — South Lake Tahoe Public Works director Aunsh Nejad says they've done a lot of preparation for this storm between planning snow operations and brining the roads.
He says homeowners should remove anything obstructing the public right-of-way because it can cause delays in snow removal operations. Trashcans, even mailboxes could cause an issue if not behind the property line.
Nejad says cars should be moved into the driveway or garage instead of on the street.
"Parked vehicles are a major obstruction for us. It delays all the work that we need to do. In addition, if people are parking in the public right-of-way, they will get cited and their vehicle will be towed," said Nejad.
He says main roads will be their priority for plowing, as well as making sure people can get to schools or hospitals.
Nejad says not to blow snow back onto roadways, sidewalks or trails.
