This Maryland couple is rooting for different teams on Sunday, but celebrating a big milestone together

A family in Glen Burnie is a house divided when it comes to the rivalry between the Washington Commanders and the Baltimore Ravens.

GLEN BURNIE, Md. — This year's showdown between the Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens is a big one. Fans of both teams are excited for the on-field battle at M&T Bank Stadium. But off the field, some football families will be watching Sunday's game with a house divided.

One of those families is the Jordan-Griffin family in Glen Burnie, Maryland. It isn't quite an even split for the family of six in Anne Arundel County. Jason, a D.C. native, hails to the Commanders with his daughter Riley. While Sherron, who grew up in Baltimore, represents the Ravens flock with kids Sincere, Amari and Noah.

The whole family is excited for this year's game, because the two teams only play each other every four years. Despite the divide in fandom, love conquers all. The couple is set to celebrate their ninth anniversary at Sunday's Battle of the Beltways.

"Nine years strong, but still repping the Commanders," Jason said. "We are both football lovers, so we wanted to celebrate it, bringing it in at the game, especially because we don't get to play often," Sherron said.

Jason said they normally take the whole family to the preseason games to watch the Commanders and Ravens play. He said he had a feeling this year's regular season matchup would be special because the Commanders have been doing so well. He got his tickets early.

Each of their kids has their own special connection with their team.

Their daughter Riley wears a shirt with signatures from players like Chase Young — which she hopes to eventually completely fill up.

Their son Sincere caught a football from Odell Beckham, Jr. and has since kept it in a glass case.

As for the gameday predictions, both Sherron and Jason think their team will emerge victorious.

"Look, Daniels is going to kill it. I'm so excited. We got the QB of the future, our franchise quarterback. He's going to get 'em with rushing yards. Them passes down the field, McLaurin's going to get it. We got a win coming," Jason said.

But Sherron says not so fast.

"They have the quarterback of the now, we've been having the quarterback," Sherron said. "It's definitely team Lamar over here. We're going to take it. We're going to have them by 10."

No matter the outcome, it's sure to be a fun time for these diehard football fans.
