WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento River Cats will share the field at Sutter Health Park with the Athletics for three seasons starting in 2025, and construction is already underway to give the minor league park some major upgrades.
It starts in the Solon Club on the right field line with a new black and white design.
A 15-year fan ABC10 spoke with has a business that brings clients to games, and he’s looking forward to the new amenities.
“We’re going to keep coming, both A’s and River Cats,” he said.
James Landsaw has also been in the area for 15 years, and he’s ready for the upgraded food and beverage service.
“They should support local. I think they also should also bring in Oakland breweries, give back a little bit to that community,” he said.
The upgraded Solon Club will have a rotating menu featuring local beer and wine.
On the second level, the Legacy Club will get a 15-foot TV, temperature-controlled lounge, premiere seating in the first four rows and complimentary food.
“I do wonder how much it’s going to cost; how much the price will increase up here,” Landsaw said.
On the outfield edge, the Gilt Edge Club will get complimentary beer and wine with build-your-own hot dog and nacho stations.
The city of West Sacramento is also taking the opportunity to expand with a 300-unit office and apartment building currently under construction. All the land around the stadium parking lot will also be filled in.
“We are talking on a scale of almost what we see in downtown Sacramento in terms of density. A total of an upwards of 4,000 new housing units and a total of about 12 million square feet in development space including office, retail and housing,” said city manager Aaron Laurel.
A hotel will also be built next to the CalSTRS building.
