Thieves steal cash, safe from Folsom restaurant after break-in, owners say

Owners of Corner Tavern and Grill say the suspects knew how to avoid the security system and where to find the safe.

FOLSOM, Calif. — A business in Folsom was burglarized after two people broke in early Saturday morning to steal cash and a safe.

The Folsom Police Department said the burglary happened around 3 a.m. at Corner Tavern and Grill and no arrests have been made.

Business owners Dominik and Raquel Bellizzi shared photos with ABC10 that show two masked people with hoodies taking money from the register at the bar and walking away with a safe full of money. They added that incident took under 20 minutes and the thieves knew how avoid the security system.

"Dominik got woken up by a call from our chef who came in this morning to open the doors and found that we have been broken into," Raquel Bellizzi said.

One of the photos shared by Corner Tavern and Grill owners show two masked people walking out of the business with a safe.

Owners said the two masked people looked "prepared" when breaking into their restaurant, using a mallet and a getaway car.

"What came clear to me at least from looking at the videos is that they knew actually where to go when they walked in," Raquel Bellizzi said. "Taking money from the cash register, they knew actually where to go after that which was to our office to take the safe."

Despite the loss of money, the Bellizzis are encouraged by their customers who came to support them Saturday after hearing about the break-in.

"This is why we do what we do because they really showed that love and support for us," Raquel Bellizzi said.

Owners said they're working with the Folsom Police Department to find the suspects responsible and are asking anyone if they saw something to speak up.
