Some San Joaquin County court services remain offline due to 'cybersecurity incident'

There'll be various manual workarounds in place in the meantime, however, some services will still be unavailable

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — Multiple services for the San Joaquin County Superior Court remain offline as they try to address a cybersecurity incident from Wednesday.

In an update, the court said they were still experiencing connection issues impacting various services. It led to some people being rescheduled to a new date for remote court appearances.

As of Thursday, they're still investigating the issues, but officials are pointing toward a cybersecurity incident they're trying to resolve.

"We took immediate and proactive steps to contain the event, which included isolating our systems from the internet. As a result, part of our network remains offline," court officials said in a news release.

There'll be various manual workarounds in place in the meantime, however, some services will still be unavailable. Those include:

  • Phone and fax service
  • Juror reporting instructions and information – Jurors summoned for the week of October 28th and in groups 138 through 150 are excused
  • Remote appearances
  • E-filing
  • Court website and all on-line services
  • Credit card payment processing

There is no timeline yet for a full restoration of services.

"We regret any concern this incident may cause and appreciate the community’s patience as we continue our investigation and remediation processes," court officials said.
