DAVIS, Calif. — A Davis man is in custody after he allegedly killed his wife Thursday.

According to the Davis Police Department, officers did a welfare check at a home on the 900 block of J Street around 4:40 p.m. after a woman was reported missing by her friend. Officers later found the 29-year-old woman dead.

Officers found the woman’s husband, 37-year-old Henry Stanley, nearby. He had an active restraining order prohibiting contact with his wife after a July 9 domestic violence arrest. He was out on bail at the time of her death after the initial arrest.

Stanley was arrested and booked on suspicion of homicide at the Yolo County Jail.

The identity of the woman and her cause of death have not been released yet.
