1,800 customers in Davis without power amid heat wave

PG&E is currently investigating the cause of the outage

DAVIS, Calif. — 1,800 customers are without power in Davis due to an unplanned outage.

According to PG&E, the outage is impacting communities bordered by Interstate 80, East Covell Boulevard, Mace Boulevard and L Street.

About 1,800 customers are impacted, down from nearly 3,000 at the beginning. The outage was reported around 7:23 p.m. and power restoration isn't expected until 12:30 a.m.

PG&E is currently investigating the cause of the outage. It comes as the area experiences a sweltering heat wave, with temperatures only a couple degrees below 90 heading toward 9 p.m.
