PIONEER, Calif. — One person is dead after a fire at Pioneer home Wednesday evening.
Amador Fire chief Rob Withrow said crews responded to the blaze around 6:45 p.m.
Arriving firefighters found a home with light smoke showing, and when they searched the home, they found a person inside.
Withrow said, despite CPR, that person died from their injuries.
The fire was eventually knocked down. The investigation into the cause is ongoing, but crews don't suspect anything suspicious in the blaze.
