1 dead after trying to pass slower traffic on Hwy 132 in San Joaquin County, CHP says

The crash was reported around 4:20 p.m. on Highway 132, near Koster Road.

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. — One person is dead after crashing into opposing traffic along Highway 132 in San Joaquin County.

The crash was reported around 4:20 p.m. on Highway 132, near Koster Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the at-fault driver was going eastbound in the westbound lanes and crashed into a car while trying to pass slower traffic.

A third driver said his car was damaged by debris from the crash.

Alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash, according to CHP.

The deceased driver was only described as a 39-year-old man out of Rowland Heights.
