Del Campo High School freshman arrested after on-campus armed robbery

Detectives say the 15-year-old freshman came up to the victim in the bathroom, flashed a gun and stole their necklace.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Del Campo High School freshman was arrested last Tuesday after an alleged on-campus armed robbery.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, it happened around 1 p.m. July 9 at Del Campo High School and they were called for a report of a student being robbed by another student during summer school.

The high school and nearby Will Rogers Middle School were locked down until deputies cleared both campuses.

Detectives say the suspect came up to the victim in the bathroom, flashed a gun and stole the victim’s necklace before running away.

The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old student, and he was arrested July 11. He was taken to the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility and is awaiting arraignment.
